Andy Gloor

Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of Sterling Bay, Andy oversees a national real estate portfolio of $20B in existing and future real estate assets. In recent years, and under Andy’s leadership, Sterling Bay has strategically expanded its portfolio across the country, developing and managing world-class creative office, residential, industrial, and life science properties in over a dozen markets. Andy oversees a team of 200 professionals and leads the firm’s award-winning philanthropic initiative, SB Cares, supporting hundreds of nonprofits, including Misericordia, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and Cara Collective.

Keating Crown

Managing Principal

Keating focuses on new acquisitions and development, as well as strategic capital pursuits and relationships. He also oversees Sterling Bay’s retail merchandising portfolio. During his tenure at Sterling Bay, Keating has pursued and acquired Sterling Bay’s land portfolios in both Lincoln Yards and Fulton Market, successfully aggregating strategically located industrial land for mixed-use redevelopment at a competitive cost in two high-demand emerging markets. Keating’s career in commercial real estate began in 2002 at Tishman Speyer in New York City and San Francisco, where he was Director of Development involved in over six million feet of ground-up residential and office development projects. He earned a BA from Duke University and a JD-MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Pritzker School of Law. Keating currently serves on the boards of the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the 606/Bloomingdale Trail, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Northwestern Memorial Foundation and the Trinity College Board of Visitors for Duke University. In 2014, he was recognized on Crain’s Chicago Business’ 40 Under 40 list.

Reed Edwards

Managing Principal

Reed oversees all business aspects of Sterling Bay’s investment and development platform, including portfolio management, financing and capital transactions. Reed specializes in executing ground-up and adaptive reuse development projects, financial analysis, complex lease negotiations, as well as acquisitions and dispositions. Since joining Sterling Bay in 2008, Reed has asset managed a real estate portfolio in excess of 10 million SF and closed $3 billion of financing, including Sterling Bay’s developments for Hillshire Brands at 400 S Jefferson, Google’s Midwest headquarters at 1KFulton, McDonald’s global headquarters at 110 N Carpenter and redevelopment of 111 N Canal, among others. Reed’s additional responsibilities at Sterling Bay include guiding strategy for corporate operations, growth, and capital allocations. For six years prior to joining Sterling Bay, Reed provided commercial mortgage banking services at PC Financial Corporation, focusing on construction, bridge, life company, and CMBS debt origination. He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Chang Lee

Managing Principal, Chief Investment Officer

Chang is responsible for sourcing and closing new acquisitions and development projects outside of Chicago and expanding the firm’s capital partner relationships. Chang led Sterling Bay to establish joint venture relationships with Lone Star, DRA Advisors and Wheelock Street Capital. Chang also oversaw the development of Ace Hotel Chicago and is overseeing the development of Hyatt House in Fulton Market and 545wyn, an office project in Miami. For ten years prior to joining Sterling Bay, Chang provided investment sale advisory services at Eastdil Secured, LLC, focusing on office assets in the Midwest and retail assets throughout the country, completing over $18 billion in office, retail and residential transactions. He earned a BS in Business from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a member of Urban Land Institute, Kellogg Real Estate Alumni Club, and University of Illinois Real Estate Alumni Club.

Dean Marks

Managing Principal

Dean oversees all strategic aspects of Sterling Bay’s business, including acquisitions, dispositions, lease negotiations, and debt and equity transactions. Dean has been integral to the vision and execution of Sterling Bay’s most notable accomplishments over the last ten years, including the assemblage and execution of the transformational Lincoln Yards project and the acquisition and development of more than 20 properties in Fulton Market between 2013 and 2014 before the neighborhood emerged as the fastest growing submarket in Chicago. Dean serves on the firm’s Investment Committee, Executive Committee, Charitable Committee, and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Dean is also a board member of the DePaul Real Estate Center.

Dean earned a BA from Dartmouth College and a JD from Emory University School of Law. Dean is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Hellenic Bar Association, and is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, Georgia, Utah, Colorado, North Carolina, New York, and Florida.

Matt Menna

Managing Principal

As Managing Principal and Chief Design Officer at Sterling Bay, Matt leads the firm’s creative design efforts across its national portfolio of award-winning office and multifamily developments and is responsible for guiding all projects requiring operational oversight or master plan design expertise. Such projects include Lincoln Yards, a more than 70-acre urban infill site that will transform a former industrial corridor along the Chicago River into a vibrant mixed-use community connecting Lincoln Park and Bucktown, as well as Victory Ranch, a 6,700-acre luxury residential community outside Park City, Utah. In supervising the development of Victory Ranch, Matt negotiated key debt and equity financing for the venture and established a modern, family-friendly, and well-appointed mountain retreat, which is nearly fully sold. Sterling Bay’s current portfolio consists of 55 properties owned and $4.7B assets under management.

Matt is also Managing Principal of Four Corners Tavern Group, Inc., which operates or invests in over 20 restaurants, bars, and hospitality ventures. He oversees the philanthropic arm of Four Corners, donating to over 50 charitable entities each year. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2012, Matt spent 17 years at William Blair, where he managed assets valued at $600 million for high-net-worth clients. Matt earned a BS in Business Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Ron Frain

Principal, Industrial Division

Ron oversees the company’s national expansion of its industrial platform. A 50-year industry veteran, Ron was first introduced to the industrial market at Gottlieb/Beale, managing development activities for both office and industrial buildings. Over the course of his career, he founded Hawthorn Realty Group, where he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Industrial Development, as well as Frain Camins & Swartchild and Bridge Development Partners. Ron is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and an active member of the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers, Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and the University of Wisconsin Club of Chicago.

Dr. Suzet McKinney

Principal, Director of Life Sciences

Dr. Suzet McKinney, a nationally recognized public health expert, serves as Principal and Director of Life Sciences. In her role, Dr. McKinney leads the strategy to expand Sterling Bay’s footprint in life sciences nationwide, pursue grant programs for laboratory incubation and graduation space and advance the work of various Sterling Bay life sciences initiatives. Prior to joining Sterling Bay, Dr. McKinney was CEO and Executive Director of the Illinois Medical District (IMD) where she managed medical research facilities, labs, a biotech business incubator, universities, four hospitals, and more than 40 healthcare-related facilities. Before IMD, Dr. McKinney served as Deputy Commissioner for the Bureau of Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response at Chicago Department of Health.

Jessica Simons

Principal, General Counsel

Jessica oversees various aspects of Sterling Bay’s most complex and high-value acquisitions, dispositions and financings. While at Sterling Bay, Jessica has negotiated and closed over $3 billion of transactions, including many of Sterling Bay’s highest profile assets such as Lincoln Yards, 600 W Chicago, 110 N Carpenter, 333 N Green and 545 NW 26th in Miami. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2017, Jessica worked in private practice for 12 years as a commercial real estate attorney at Paul Hastings LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Jessica earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a JD from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.

Fred Krol

Managing Director

Fred advises executive leadership on civic outreach and political engagement while also working closely with elected officials and community groups in the many neighborhoods where Sterling Bay operates. Prior to Sterling Bay, Fred worked for over a decade as an attorney at Dentons, as well as an aide to U.S. Sen Dick Durbin, former Ald. Charles Bernardini (43rd) and Illinois Comptroller Dawn Clark Netsch. Fred holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and received his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Russ Cora

Executive Vice President

Russ Cora oversees all aspects of office leasing for Sterling Bay’s rapidly expanding portfolio, including upcoming development projects. Before joining Sterling Bay in 2013, Russ spent over a decade working for various prominent firms in Chicago’s commercial real estate industry before forming his own company. Today he is a 25-year industry veteran who has secured over four million square feet of significant leasing transactions across Sterling Bay’s portfolio. During his time at Sterling Bay, he has secured some of Chicago’s most recognizable office leasing deals, including relocating Glassdoor and Dyson’s Midwest headquarters, the notable relocation of McDonald’s Global Headquarters to Fulton Market, C.H. Robinson’s flagship relocation to Lincoln Yards, and Havi Group’s relocation to Fulton Market.

Russ earned his BS in economics from Allegheny College and is a licensed Illinois managing broker.

Gwen Kaminskas

Vice President of Human Resources

Gweneth Kaminskas is Vice President of Human Resources at Sterling Bay. With more than a decade of experience in Human Resources and twenty years of professional services experience, including finance, architecture, real estate, and property management. Gweneth is responsible for managing all aspects of Sterling Bay’s human resources needs requirements. As a strategic human resources professional, Gweneth successfully partners with business leaders and stakeholders to support, lead, and execute initiatives that align with Sterling Bay’s growth objectives. Her focus is to deliver exceptional quality of service and high-value results through creative problem solving and strategic planning.

Gweneth holds a master’s degree in teaching and learning from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from the University of Iowa. She also earned both her SHRM-CP and PHR Certifications.

Steph Smothers

Vice President, Design

Steph Smothers was appointed Vice President of Design at Sterling Bay in 2022 after serving as Senior Designer since 2017. Steph oversees all aspects of Sterling Bay’s interiors. With over a decade of experience, she leads and designs a wide array of project types, including corporate workplaces, hospitality-focused environments, and branded interiors. Steph has received several industry accolades during her time at Sterling Bay, including AIA Design Excellence and IIDA Red Awards, and appeared in publications like Crain’s and Hospitality Design Magazine for her work.

Steph holds a BFA in Interior Design from Iowa State University and is NCIDQ licensed. She is an active member of IIDA’s Chicago chapter, volunteers for DIFFA Chicago, and serves on Sterling Bay’s Inclusion Committee.

Jared Larson

Managing Director

Jared focuses on ground-up and adaptive-reuse development, managing all aspects of the development process. Since joining Sterling Bay, Jared has played a leading role in approximately $2 billion of capital market transactions, including the development of McDonald’s global headquarters at 110 N Carpenter and Fulton West. Jared is also responsible for managing and developing strategy for a team of investment professionals. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2014, Jared worked at Ernst & Young (EY) as a Real Estate Transaction Specialist, providing real estate consulting and valuation expertise for major mergers and acquisitions. Jared received a BBA in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and a BBA in Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Keiana Barrett

Chief Diversity & Engagement Officer

Keiana oversees the development and execution of Sterling Bay’s community integration and diversity inclusion strategies. Keiana has over 20 years of experience in government affairs, strategic communications and community engagement. Prior to joining Sterling Bay, she served as Deputy Director for Heartland Alliance – READI Chicago, Senior Advisor to several members of the Chicago City Council, Director of Communications for the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, DC, National Press Secretary for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Director of External Affairs for the DuSable Museum of African American History, and Interim Chief of Communications and Director of Strategy for Chicago Public Schools. Keiana earned her BA in Communications and English from Illinois State University and MHS from Spertus College in Chicago, Illinois.

Amy Wexler

Chief Marketing Officer

Amy serves as Chief Marketing Officer responsible for driving the overall marketing vision, brand strategy, and execution to expand brand awareness and fuel business growth. Prior to joining Sterling Bay, she served as CMO of AJ Capital Partners, leading global marketing efforts for Graduate Hotels, Marine & Lawn, and AJ Capital emerging platforms. Under her leadership, the firm launched 32 hotels in college markets across the country, nearly tripling Graduate Hotels’ portfolio.  Amy’s experience and vision were immediately impactful when she joined Sterling Bay in 2022. She has launched multiple brand-building projects to support the firm’s multifamily and life sciences platforms, as well as strategizing the growth of its corporate brand as the company continues to expand into major national markets.  Amy champions the communities where Sterling Bay develops – as a key member of the company’s philanthropic initiative, SB Cares, she contributes to the oversight of significant annual donations across non-profit organizations across the country.

Julie Goudie

Director of Communications

Julie oversees all communications efforts at Sterling Bay, from national media relations to local community outreach. As Director of Communications, she focuses on amplifying the stories of job creation, economic output, and environmental sustainability surrounding the firm’s developments, increasing awareness of the public benefits that Sterling Bay’s real estate work delivers. Since joining Sterling Bay, Julie has exponentially increased the firm’s national exposure, securing media coverage in major news outlets, and elevating the firm’s visibility in the business community.

 

Julie is a career-long public relations professional with agency and client-side experience, ranging from start-up concepts to national brands. In her role with SB Cares, the firm’s philanthropic initiative, Julie coordinates the distribution of nearly $1M in annual charitable giving, creating a positive impact in the communities in which Sterling Bay works. Julie earned a BA in Communications from the University of Iowa.

Jennifer Wishart

Director of Marketing

Jenny is responsible for driving strategy and national brand awareness across all marketing channels. She oversees creative asset production as the firm continues to expand and launch into new verticals, including residential and life sciences. Jenny has taken a multifaceted approach to the growth of Sterling Bay’s brand with go-to-market plans in strategic partnerships and digital and experiential marketing.

Prior to joining Sterling Bay, Jenny served as the Director of Marketing for Foxtrot, an e-commerce-driven market and café brand, where she led marketing efforts for the successful launch of 15 stores nationwide. Jenny developed and executed communication strategies to drive impressions and revenue in new markets with little to no existing brand awareness. Jenny also brings experience from her role leading national marketing efforts at Graduate Hotels. During her tenure, she supported the launch of 10 hotels in college markets across the country in just 12 months and led partnership strategy and programming for the entire hotel portfolio. Jenny earned a BA in Strategic Communication from Miami University.

Greg Sudkamp

Chief Compliance Officer

Greg Sudkamp joined Sterling Bay in 2022 as Chief Compliance Officer after serving as a Chief Compliance Officer at CME Group for more than 10 years. With over 20 years of experience in financial services and real estate, Greg is responsible for managing Sterling Bay’s compliance program where he implements and manages compliance programs within the highly regulated financial services sector. After serving as a United States Marine Greg started his professional career at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He is an active member of several veteran-focused organizations.

Greg holds a Master of Jurisprudence from Loyola University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Elizabeth Berlinsky

Managing Director, Senior Leasing Counsel

Elizabeth is a member of Sterling Bay’s legal team and works most closely with the asset management, property management, leasing and development services groups on issues related to the company’s rapidly growing office and retail leasing portfolios. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2014, Elizabeth spent over seven years as a practicing attorney at two national law firms predominantly focusing on all aspects of commercial real estate, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing and leasing. Elizabeth earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan and JD from Northwestern University.

Jessica Brown

Managing Director

Jessica is responsible for leasing across Sterling Bay’s portfolio, including prominent projects such as 333 N Green, Prudential Plaza, 600 W Chicago, and Lincoln Yards. Jessica has served as an integral member of the team specializing in the overall asset redevelopment strategy, lease negotiation, and retail placemaking of the company’s assets. Before joining Sterling Bay in 2015, Jessica worked at CBRE on the Urban Retail Team. Jessica earned a BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is an active member of ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and WIRL (Women in Retail Leasing).

Patrick Biesty

Managing Director, Engineering

Patrick Biesty serves as the Managing Director of Engineering at Sterling Bay. With over 20 years of extensive experience in building engineering and management, Patrick oversees all aspects of the firm’s engineering efforts across its entire portfolio, including the management of over 80 field engineering professionals. Patrick also oversees MEP due diligence during acquisition and dispositions, building performance and sustainability, and OSHA compliance and safety. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2015, Patrick worked as a Building Consultant with JLL, as well as a Chief Engineer in the Chicago market. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an Associate Degree from Triton College.

Joseph Lauricella

Director of Information Technology

Joe is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of the firm’s technology infrastructure. Joe manages a team of technology professionals and oversees technological operations and systems across the entire real estate portfolio. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2010, Joe worked as a consultant for Chicago-based Informist Consulting. He earned a BS from DeVry University and is an active volunteer of the Orland Park Police Department’s Emergency Services Disaster Agency (ESDA) unit.

Dave Gloor

Vice President of Leasing

Dave Gloor serves as Vice President of Leasing at Sterling Bay, where he oversees day-to-day leasing efforts for the firm’s creative office and data center assets in the Chicago area. Dave joined Sterling Bay in 2012, where he started as a Project Manager on the Victory Ranch project in Utah. Taking technical knowledge from managing this project, he then transitioned to a leasing role in 2017.

Since joining the leasing team, Dave has secured major tenants like West Monroe Partners’ global headquarters at 311 W Monroe, SMS Assist’s corporate headquarters at One Two Pru, and Aspen Dental’s office space at 1040 W Randolph.

Dave earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and is a licensed Illinois managing broker. He is an active member of COLBA (Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association) and holds a leadership role in fundraising efforts for Misericordia.

Austin Lusson

Vice President of Leasing

Austin Lusson serves as Vice President of Leasing at Sterling Bay, where he oversees day-to-day leasing efforts for several of the firm’s most notable Chicago office assets, including 111 N Canal, 600 W Chicago, 345 N Morgan, 311 W Monroe, and formerly One Two Pru. Since joining Sterling Bay in 2014 and having worked on the leasing team since 2017, Austin has closed over 750,000 square feet of marquee transactions, securing major tenants like West Monroe Partners’ global headquarters at 311 W Monroe, SMS Assist’s corporate headquarters at One Two Pru, and Echo Global Logistics’ global headquarters at 600 W Chicago.

Austin holds a bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Augustana College. He is an active member of COLBA (Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association) and City of Hope’s ‘Building Hope’ Board.

Ryan Walsh

Principal, Acquisitions

As Principal of Acquisitions, Ryan oversees the sourcing, closing, and capital formation of the Sterling Bay’s investment and development opportunities across the country. Ryan is focused on mixed-use, life science, creative office, residential, and industrial opportunities in high-growth markets nationally. Ryan has contributed to Sterling Bay’s national portfolio growth through several high-profile acquisitions, including mixed-use opportunities in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, and Nashville, and over $4B in life science portfolio investment. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2017, Ryan worked as an investment sale broker at Eastdil Secured, completing transactions totaling $14 billion, focusing on sales and recapitalizations of office and mixed-use assets in the Midwest. Ryan earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and is an active member of the local non-profit, Open Heart Magic.

Dr. James Gillespie

Executive Director

James Gillespie is Executive Director at Sterling Bay. James is an experienced entrepreneur, executive, and scholar. His research has appeared in numerous academic journals and industry periodicals, including Academy of Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and Strategic Management Journal. James is also a Senior Advisor at the Stanford University School of Medicine and a Research Affiliate at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven CT. His civic and community roles include Co-Founder and Board Member at Women In Healthcare & Life Sciences, Co-Founder and Board Member at the Black Healthcare & Medical Association, and Advisory Board Member at Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association. His education includes Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, M.A., Ph.D.; Harvard University School of Law, J.D.; Princeton University School of Public Policy, M.P.A.; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, B.S.; Carnegie Mellon University Heinz School; and Rand Graduate School.

Jeff Assenmacher

Director of Finance

Jeff oversees the financing and capital markets activity of the firm’s real estate portfolio including acquisition and construction financing. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2017, Jeff worked for 12 years at Bank of America and LaSalle Bank in the Commercial Real Estate Group. He has closed $5 billion of real estate financings over the course of his career. Jeff earned a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Miami University.

Daniella Hemsley

Vice President of Leasing

Daniella Hemsley serves as Vice President of Leasing at Sterling Bay, where she is responsible for helping manage the firm’s leasing for key assets, including Lincoln Yards, 600 W Chicago, 111 N Canal, 345 N Morgan, 360 N Green, 1200 W Carroll, and 350 N Morgan. Daniella brings over seven years of diverse industry experience in leasing, transaction management, and valuation and advisory. Daniella holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a Certificate in Real Estate from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a licensed Illinois real estate broker. She is an active member of Greater Chicago Food Depository – CREA Steering Committee and LPCS (Lincoln Park Community Service) Associate Board.

Joshua Liss

Managing Director

Joshua is responsible for evaluating new acquisitions and developments across the country and managing the closing process. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2019, Joshua worked at Hudson Advisors, the asset management arm of Lone Star Funds, for over five years. He was responsible for underwriting and completing all due diligence for over $925 million of real estate transactions across a variety of asset classes. Joshua earned his BA in History from the University of Michigan and is the chair of a local non-profit, Metro Chicago Hillel.

Matt Miller

Director of Asset Management

Matt Miller was appointed Director of Asset Management at Sterling Bay in 2022 after serving as Vice President since 2018. With over 13 years of residential development and capital markets experience, Matt is responsible for operating Sterling Bay’s residential division, overseeing strategic planning, underwriting, capital raising, and asset management for a robust pipeline of residential development projects. Matt began his career at The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies and transitioned from commercial property acquisitions to residential development in 2015 when he joined Fifield Companies in Chicago.

Matt earned his BS in Finance from the University of Illinois and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Illini Real Estate Network.

Erin Belknap

Managing Director, Security

Erin, a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), joined Sterling Bay in 2015 to oversee and develop the company’s security and emergency preparedness programs. As the senior security executive, Erin coordinates with on-site property managers, engineers, contract security officers, high-profile office tenants and local first responders to ensure a best-in-class security program at all of Sterling Bay properties. Erin is a United States Marine Corps veteran. During her enlistment she managed the security of top-secret facilities in the United States and abroad.  Erin earned a BA from Excelsior College and is currently enrolled in the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security’s Executive Leader’s Program.

Meg Hanley

Managing Director, Property Management

Meg Hanley was appointed Director of Property Management at Sterling Bay in 2021 after serving as General Manager since 2017. With over seventeen years of experience in Property Management, Meg is responsible for maintaining excellence in all aspects of Sterling Bay’s commercial property management programs. Meg is Skilled in developing operating budgets, construction management, lease administration, strategic financial planning, tenant affairs, contract management, sustainable practices, and investor relationships.

Meg holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from National Louis University and is an active member of BOMA Chicago and a LEED Accredited professional.

Hugh Williams

Director of Strategic Growth & Entrepreneurship

Hugh is Director of Strategic Growth & Entrepreneurship at Sterling Bay where he leads the firm’s investment in, and partnership with, local minority- and women-owned businesses that work with Chicago’s commercial real estate industry. Together with Sterling Bay leadership, Hugh allocates firm resources – including capital, mentorship opportunities and professional relationships – to Chicago-based entrepreneurs, empowering them to develop a significant presence in their field. In addition, Hugh serves as principal of MK Asset Management, a Chicago-based real estate investor, operator and third-party service provider with a current portfolio value exceeding $100 million in real estate assets.

Prior to joining MK Asset Management, he established Avison Young’s Chicago office, the company’s inaugural U.S. location. A former Big 10 Conference football player, Hugh graduated from Northwestern University with a master’s degree before beginning his real estate career at Cushman & Wakefield’s Chicago office.

Rick Kintigh

Vice President of Architecture

Rick Kintigh was appointed Vice President with a focus on Architecture at Sterling Bay in 2021 after serving as Architect since 2012. With over 25 years of experience in architecture and design, Rick is responsible for managing Sterling Bay’s architectural analysis and design. Projects Rick has overseen have received several industry awards during his time at Sterling Bay, including SARA National Design Awards, AIA and IIDA Design Excellence Awards, and NAIOP Development Awards for several projects in the firm’s national portfolio.

Rick holds a bachelor’s in architecture from Iowa State University, is a licensed architect in Illinois, and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.

Sach Kirpalani

Managing Director

Sach Kirpalani was appointed Managing Director at Sterling Bay in 2022 after serving as Senior Director at JLL for 17 years. With over 19 of experience in commercial real estate, Sach is responsible for managing Sterling Bay’s acquisitions, development, and portfolio management in markets west of Denver. Sach has facilitated over $7 billion in real estate transactions throughout his career, covering nearly 20 million square feet across markets in the western United States.

Sach holds a Master’s in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of San Diego, a Bachelor’s in Finance from San Diego State University, and is an active member of NAIOP and ULI.

Marty Wood

Principal, Development Services

Martin “Marty” Wood joined Sterling Bay’s Development Services in 2019 and currently serves as Principal of Development Services. With over 31 years of experience within the construction industry, Marty manages and coordinates all aspects of the construction across the company, including Lincoln Yards. Martin excels at managing multiple projects with complex and unique challenges that require creative and critical thinking.

Prior to joining Sterling Bay, Marty was the Senior Project Manager at Turner Construction for 18 years where he managed projects within the healthcare, infrastructure, education, and sports divisions. Marty is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in Industrial Technology.

Rodney Richerson

Managing Principal

Rodney is Managing Principal of Sterling Bay where he is responsible for sourcing and closing new acquisitions and developments in the Western USA.  Prior to joining Sterling Bay, Rod oversaw the Western half of the United States on behalf of KBS Realty Advisors and its affiliate KBS Capital Advisors. Rod was responsible for all activity, including acquisitions, asset management and dispositions.  During his time at KBS, Rod oversaw the acquisitions and development of approximately $5 billion in acquisition and development deal volume.  Rod was also actively involved in capital raising efforts, including the $1.2B IPO of the Prime Office REIT (Singapore listing) roadshows throughout Asia and trips to the middle east.  Prior to KBS, Rod worked in the Mexico City office of Koll/Cushman Realty Mexico (KCRM) and was with Koll’s Southern California Development Group.  Rod serves on a variety of industry advisory groups and is a board member of the Southern California chapter of NAIOP.  He earned a BA in Business, with an emphasis in real estate finance from California State University, Fullerton.

Jennifer Steinborn

Managing Director, Transactions

Jennifer is a member of Sterling Bay’s legal team and she oversees all transactional activity across the Sterling Bay portfolio. Jennifer works closely with members of all departments within Sterling Bay and joint venture partners and lenders to ensure that all new acquisitions, financings, joint ventures and dispositions are executed efficiently and seamlessly. Jennifer’s deep knowledge of title, survey, encumbrances, real estate and transfer tax, together with her solution-oriented approach to issues, ensures that problems are solved before closing. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2013, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and then honed her transactional skills as a paralegal in the real estate group of a mid-size law firm.

Jori Young

Director of Risk Management

Jori is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of Sterling Bay’s insurance program in order to manage and mitigate potential risks. As a member of the company’s legal team, Jori assists in the review of contracts with focus toward risk mitigation and potential insurance implications. Jori also oversees and manages the claims process working with insurance carriers to resolve coverage issues and ensure the proper and efficient handling of claims. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2018, Jori spent over 14 years as a litigation attorney and several years working directly in the insurance industry managing claims. She earned her BA from University of Wisconsin-Madison and JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Ryan Zordan

Director of Asset Management

Ryan Zordan was appointed Director of Asset Management at Sterling Bay in 2021 after serving as Vice President since 2018. With over 17 years of experience in commercial real estate analysis and asset management, Ryan is responsible for managing all aspects of Sterling Bay’s Lincoln Yards development.

Ryan Zordan holds a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Jesse Van Dyke

Director of National Leasing

As Director of National Leasing, Jesse supervises Sterling Bay’s leasing efforts across all markets, creating relationships with major national tenants and connecting Sterling Bay’s existing tenant roster with new market office opportunities. Prior to joining Sterling Bay in 2021, Van Dyke began his career at CBRE, specializing in tenant representation. In 2008 he joined JLL where he worked with tenants in the tech and finance sectors securing premier office space in the Chicagoland area, including an award-winning transaction with Bank of America for a 500,000-square-foot lease at 110 N. Wacker Drive. Most recently, Van Dyke was Vice President of Real Estate at co-working giant WeWork where he led the firm’s expansion and portfolio optimization throughout the United States from 2018 – 2020.
